Consorzio interuniversitario per lo Sviluppo dei sistemi a Grande Interfase (CSGI)
CSGI as Project Coordinator takes care of the technical and financial management. It also leads Work Package 4 “Formulations for key applications” which focuses on the development of formulations for essential industrial applications. This WP aims to create innovative formulations that utilize sustainable new bio-based surfactants to replace conventional surfactants. The three main areas of application include home and personal care products, encapsulation technologies, and textile enhancement.
Team
Piero Baglioni – Project Coordinator
Piero Baglioni is Emeritus Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Florence, and MIT affiliate. He is the President of CSGI and member of the editorial boards of several international journals. With more than 500 publications and 30 patents, he is internationally recognised as one of the leading experts in soft matters science and has made significant contributions to the study of colloids and interfaces.
David Chelazzi – Associate Professor
David Chelazzi is Associate Professor (Physical Chemistry) at the University of Florence. His main research involves advanced and nanomaterials for industrial applications and the conservation of Cultural Heritage. He is involved in European and national projects on these subjects (FP7, H2020, HORIZON EUROPE). He is author and co-author of more than 100 papers in the field of physical-chemistry, conservation science, and environmental science.
Giovanna Poggi – Researcher
Giovanna Poggi holds a Ph.D. in Science for Cultural Heritage Conservation from the University of Florence under the mentorship of Prof. Piero Baglioni. She worked as a postdoctoral fellow at CSGI in the framework of the European Projects FP7 NANOFORART, H2020 NANORESTART, H2020 APACHE, ERC GraphenART and HORIZON EUROPE GREENART. She is currently a fixed-term researcher (RTDb) in physical chemistry at the Chemistry Department of the University of Florence.
Rachel Camerini – Post-doc
Rachel Camerini holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry – Conservation Sciences, from the University of Florence and works as a postdoctoral fellow at CSGI. Her research focuses on the development and characterization of colloid-based formulations for the conservation of cultural heritage and, more recently, novel and green approaches for the encapsulation of actives in commercial formulations, in the framework of joint academic-industrial projects.
Patrizia Zitelli – Grant Manager on Research and Innovation Programmes
Patrizia Zitelli has a Master Degree in International Relations and European Studies, and since 2015 she has administered several funded projects for a global budget of more than €40M within the EC Research and Innovation funding programmes. At CSGI she is also in charge of the exploitation activities in the frame of the Horizon Results Booster services.
