Aalto University leads Task 4.3 “Formulation for textiles”, focusing on the development and evaluation of bio-based surfactants for textile applications. This involves assessing surfactant stability, wettability, and stain removal efficiency while benchmarking their performance against conventional fossil-based alternatives. Aalto investigates the solubilization of hydrophobic dyes, optimizes dyeing processes for polyester and acrylic fibers, and evaluates the durability and fastness of dyed fabrics.
