P&G plays a crucial role in the SurfToGreen project by contributing to the development and validation of bio-based surfactants and formulations intended to serve as alternatives to fossil-based surfactants used in various industrial applications.

 

Johan Smets – Vice President

Johan Smets is Vice President, Victor Mills Society and innovator in the FMCG Industry. Chemistry innovation for P&G. Innovated over 15 groundbreaking technologies, including novel enzymes, delivery systems, and encapsulation techniques for FMCG and perfumes. Developed process chemistry for scaling new molecules and recognized for expertise in adhesion phenomena and detergent chemistry. Enhanced innovation speed with open strategies and external funding, resulting in 150+ patents and a h-index of 37. Recognized as a top innovator in the detergent industry.

 

Susana Fernandez-Prieto – Corporate R&D Director Principal Scientist

Susana Fernandez-Prieto is the Corporate R&D Director Principal Scientist in Transformative Platform Technologies Team, a cross- business units upstream technology department. Moreover, Susana has been a member of the Gender Diversity & Inclusion Core Team in P&G for many years and has implemented several traineeships students’ programmes within P&G. Over 20 years expertise in perfume raw material synthesis and scale-up, detergency formulations, organic synthesis, large scale production, rheology, catalysis, encapsulation, controlled release and delivery systems. Applied for over 90 patents for P&G or with suppliers: 25 scientific papers. She has (co)supervised, coached and mentored over 40 PhD and postdoc students and more than 100 master/graduates/undergraduates, she also actively mentors and coaches’ permanent employees, especially women. In addition, she has been an evaluator for Research Grants for the European Commission.

 

Isabelle Guimet – Disruptive Technologies-Chemistry, R&D Director

Isabelle Guimet has 26 years of experience in 360° R&D project management of white space exploration and market introduction of disruptive consumer irresistible product innovations. Holistic R&D experience from technology development to formulation and evaluation (technical and with consumers), cross-functional qualification and interface with marketing/purchasing/legal. This spans from front-end innovation to current business delivery. Majority of experience in Fabric Care category (Ariel, Tide, Bold, Gain, Downy/Lenor…), 2 years of experience in Homecare (Dreft, Fairy), 7 years in Corporate (serving all P&G Business units).
