Universidad de Huelva

Universidad de Huelva (UHU)

The Chemical Process & Product Technology Research Center (Pro2TecS) at UHU is devoted to the study of the processing and properties of complex multicomponent and/or multiphase products from a Chemical Engineering perspective.

UHU/Pro2TecS is involved in Work Package 4 “Formulations for key applications”, specifically in relation to the development of formulations for home & personal care and formulations for encapsulation, with special focus on rheological characterization, structure-rheology relationship and encapsulation of volatiles.

José M. Franco – Full Professor and Pro2TecS director

José M. Franco is Full Professor in Chemical Engineering. He has carried out extensive research activity for more than 30 years, mainly focused on Chemical Product Engineering, specifically related to Rheology of complex materials, processing of non-Newtonian fluids, lubricants, and polymers and biopolymers. Researcher in more than 30 projects obtained in competitive calls, authored over 200 research papers in peer reviewed journals.

He has carried out an important technology transfer activity to the industry, in more than 60 R&D projects. Inventor in 10 patents.

Inmaculada Martínez – Associate Professor and Pro2TecS researcher

Inmaculada Martínez is Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering. Her research interests include the formulation-processing-rheology-microstructure relationship in biodegradable products as bioplastics, bioadhesives from agro-food waste or renewable resources and the design of printing systems tailored to conventional 3D printers for the production of gel-like products or continuous mixing of solids and liquids. She is inventor of 14 patents, co-author of 50 articles and has participated in over 20 competitive projects and 27 R&D projects of technology transfer to the industry.
